Limit Estimate Types for Your Account

There are different types of estimates - Estimate Worksheet, Material and Labor Estimate, and Unit Cost Estimate - that can be created in STACK. By default you can create any or all of these estimates for projects in your account. However, you may find that a certain estimate type works better for your workflow and want your team to only create that type of estimate. 

STACK provides three setting options so you can restrict which estimate types your team can create:

• All estimate types (no restrictions)
  You can view and create any type of estimate. (This is the default setting.)
• Estimate Worksheet only
  You can only view and create Estimate Worksheets. Unit Cost Estimates and Material and Labor Estimates cannot be created and are hidden.
• Material & Labor and Unit Cost only
  You can only view and create Unit Cost Estimates and Material and Labor Estimates. Estimate Worksheets cannot be created and are hidden.

• You must be an Account Owner or other account user with a role/permission to edit Account Settings in order to access Account Settings and restrict estimate types in the account.

When user chooses an option, they get a confirmation dialog with verbiage that says:

Once confirmed, on all projects created after this point in time, users will be able to create all estimate types. Continue? [Yes / No]

Once confirmed, on all projects created after this point in time, users will only be able to create Estimate Worksheets. Continue? [Yes / No]

Once confirmed, on all projects created after this point in time, users will only be able to create Material & Labor and Unit Cost estimates. Continue? [Yes / No]

The setting is not set until they choose Yes in this confirmation dialog.

NOTE: You must be an Account Owner or other account user with a role/permission to edit Account Settings in order to access Account Settings and restrict estimate creation in the account.

1. Click the Settings icon at the right of the main navigation toolbar.
2. Select Account Settings from the dropdown menu.
3. Click Company Settings on the left panel.
   
   
4. Scroll down to the Project Settings section.
5. Click on the Restrict estimate creation dropdown and select the desired option.
6. Click Yes to confirm your selection.
