    Article Summary

    En Español

There are three ways to quickly copy existing project plans in your STACK Takeoff & Estimating account –

    • Copy Project - Allows you to copy an entire project and save it as a new project.
    • Copy Page - Allows you to copy individual pages within an existing project.
    • Copy Multiple Pages - Allows you to copy multiple pages within an existing project at the same time.

This can be very useful for managing addendums, rebids, alternates, phases, and options on a project or when working on similar projects.

You don’t have to spend hours recreating your work and comparing it to the original or worry about potential errors and missing information from manually entry. You can edit the new/copied page or project as needed while maintaining the original for your records.

What to Know About Copying a Project

    • Copying a project creates an entirely new project.
    • All project information - including plans, documents, takeoffs (with added items & assemblies), measurements, labels, and estimates - is copied by default; but you do have the option not to include plans and documents in the copy.
    • Report and Estimate snapshots and Invite and Share status are NOT copied.
If the source project was sent as an invite or shared, the new, copied project will not automatically be sent as an invite or shared. However, you can use the Invite and/or Share features with the new project.
    • The new project has the same functionality as any other project. You can add, edit, and delete any files, takeoffs, and estimate information you want.
    • The new project and the original project are completely independent. Changes made to one project will NOT change the other.
    • If you have been invited to a project or someone has shared a project with you, you cannot copy that project. However, the owner of the original project can copy that project.
    • You cannot copy Events.

What to Know About Copying Pages

    • The copied page(s) are saved in the same project as the original page(s).
    • You have the option to include measurements, markups, and/or bookmarks that have been added to the original page in the copy.
    • The new page has the same functionality as any other page. You can add, edit, and delete any information you want.
    • The new page and the original page are completely independent. Changes made to one will NOT change the other.
    • Deep Zoom legacy pages cannot be copied.
